Africa has a youth unemployment issue. Its youth population is increasing exponentially compared to other regions of the word, but there is a significant gap between the number of young people seeking work and the limited employment opportunities available to them. Africa has the world’s highest rate of working poverty — people who are employed but earn less than US $2 a day.

The Launch Africa Institute’s mission is to help find solutions to this unemployment challenge. We engage a new generation of young and emerging thought leaders in Africa, who are passionate about creating change in their communities, building businesses, and living significant lives. We believe in actively contributing to shaping a continent where more young Africans have access to meaningful and fulfilling work.

The Launch Africa Fellowship program is a year-long fellowship open to young African university graduates and professionals between the ages of 21 and 30. The selected fellows from across the continent will meet four times during the year to engage in leadership and skills training, networking events, and design sessions aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and context to design, test and implement solutions to Africa’s youth employment challenge.

Please check back for information on the 2019 program.

The Launch Africa institute works directly with young and emerging leaders to build their individual and collective capacity to live high impact lives.

We are looking for outstanding thought leaders and public and private institutions interested in providing training, mentorships, and coaching for young and emerging leaders from across the continent. If you would like to get involved as a partner, please reach out to us.
